While Frankenfish can conjure nightmarish images, it’s really a northern snakehead fish, or Channa argus. It may appear like a normal fish, but it has a special ability: it can breathe air, allowing it to slither onto land to find better water to swim in.If they are able to stay moist, the snakehead can survive for up to four days out of the water, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife says. AUSTIN (KXAN) — An Austin man was sentenced to 20 years in prison for his role in a 2021 murder in Buda. Jason Oliver Martinez, 22, pleaded guilty in April to four charges: capital murder and three counts of aggravated robbery. His plea bargain agreement has a 20-year sentence, which began April 10, including 803 days of jail credit. LOUIS - Police are investaigating a carjacking that took place Saturday night.It happened around 10:45 a.m. on the 5600 block of Waterman Avenue, where a man was arriving home in his blue 2009 Toyota Camry. Upon arrival, the man was approached by six to seven armed suspects. Authorities in La Verne are investigating after suspects drove through the front of a jewelry store and proceeded to burglarize it. According to the La Verne Police Department, the robbery took place at Rodeo Jewlers, located in the 1500 block of Foothill Boulevard, around 12:15 p.m. Saturday afternoon. “A white four door sedan was driven through the glass storefront of the jewelry store,” the La Verne Police Department said in a statement. “Four male suspects entered the store, shattered display cases and loaded several bags with jewelry.” An employee in the store was assaulted by the thieves, and they suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
